Wild Atlantic Way - Winners announced

Closing Date: Friday October 31 2014

This form is now expired. Thank you to all those who have submitted files.

Earlier this summer Independent.ie teamed up with Discover Ireland to capture the nation’s favourite Wild Atlantic Way moments.

The Discover Your Wild Atlantic Way competition called upon Independent.ie readers to get out there and embrace the longest coastal touring route in the world; right here on our doorstep.

We wanted our readers to discover places along the West they didn’t know existed. And to inspire everyone’s journey, we asked you to share your experience along the Wild Atlantic Way by uploading an image or video of your precious moments for the chance to win one of three incredible breaks.

And the results are in; the 2,500km route was captured in all its glory by the many entries received. From young families creating special memories on the spectacular beaches along the route, friends cycling the route together and couples embracing their romantic side; there was plenty to choose from.

And the three winners are:

-    Ruth O’ Neill, “Those who don’t jump never fly”

-    Siobhán Cornally,  “Aran View”

-    Daire Summerville, “Our Wild Atlantic Way Adventure”

According to Ciara Sugrue, Head of Consumer Engagement, Fáilte Ireland, “We were wowed by the standard of entries, all capturing amazing moments experienced along the Wild Atlantic Way over the summer months.
As we move into autumn, it’s a great time for people to continue their exploration of our epic west coast and to create even more memories. With crisp blue skies and rich colors sweeping the coastline, it’s the perfect time to wrap up and soak up the atmosphere of this captivating route -– whether it’s on a beautiful romantic getaway or time out to catch up with friends. With five main routes and 15 key signature points, you don’t have to do all of the Wild Atlantic Way in one go.”
