Having taken a break from the road following their extensive 2012 tour, chief songwriters Davy Carton and Leo Moran recently announced The Saw Doctors’ return, to the joy of their worldwide family of adoring fans.

Starting out playing in local pubs, The Saw Doctors were invited out on tour with Mike Scott of The Waterboys, spending 6 weeks touring the UK in 1989. After this, The Saw Doctors went from strength to strength when single ‘I Useta Lover’ spent nine weeks at number one and became Ireland's best-selling single of all time. They followed up with the No 2 hit, N17, and a chart-topping album, If This Is Rock And Roll, I Want My Old Job Back. A steady run of chart entries continued with the recent Irish number ones for their cover of Sugababes’ ‘About You Now’.

Over the years, The Saw Doctors have built up a reputation as an unmissable live band with countless sold out tours to an abundance of festival appearances, including Glastonbury and T in the Park. Famed for their unrelenting energy, a Saw Doctors live show is performed with as much passion and fervour as their small-town pub gigs 28 years ago.

The Saw Doctors - The Missing Years...

In March 2016 founding members Davy Carton and Leo Moran decided to regroup the full Saw Doctors band after a three year sabbatical from live gigs and touring – the last concert that Saw Doctors played was in Madison Wisconsin at the end of a month long US Tour in March 2013.

During the last three years the various members of The Saw Doctors have been involved in different side projects - Guitarist Leo Moran and Waterboy founder Anthony Thistlethwaite have recorded a trilogy of acoustic albums - Flyin' It!,  Pushin' It!  and Shovin' It!.  Drummer Rickie O'Neill retrained as an actor and last Summer played a starring role in  'Once the Musical' in Dublin' Olympia Theatre.

Two weeks ago The Saw Doctors announced their comeback UK Tour - fifteen shows in England, Scotland and Wales in late November and through December including multiple concert dates in London at Shepherd's Bush Empire and in Glasgow at 02 Academy - on the first day of sales for their Saw Doctors UK comeback tour, promoter SJM Concerts shifted over 10,000 tickets.

The Saw Doctors songwriting team, Davy Carton and Leo Moran, have just returned from a three week US Tour as an acoustic duo - the two musicians road tested some new songs that they have written in Tuam since January. Davy and Leo will record a new Saw Doctors Album this Summer, ahead of the Galway bands comeback shows in November and December in Ireland and the UK.

The Saw Doctors have recently licensed their Greatest Hits Collection, 'To Win Just Once...The Best of The Saw Doctors', to Universal Records.  The title track 'To Win Just Once' was picked up last year by the Wisconsin State Lottery for a major US TV campaign to promote their Mega Millions Draw.
